Barnardo’s Cymru has recently acquired the new Family Support Service within Caerphilly. This new integrated service is tasked with providing a range of child and family orientated services across the borough including direct family work, specialist interventions and supervised contact.
This post offers an exciting opportunity to take a lead in establishing this new service and join the existing management team. Specifically you will be tasked with developing and managing the supervised contact team within Caerphilly.
You will therefore contribute to the creation and delivery of a service plan in partnership with Caerphilly Children’s Services offering supervised contact sessions for looked after children and their parents in a safe and homely environment.
You’ll be committed to partnership working with families and other agencies. This will be matched with the ability to supervise staff and the desire to apply drive and expertise to develop this important provision.
It is essential you have a social work or equivalent qualification as well as recent experience of working with families where significant concerns exist about their capacity to care for their own children.
A clean current driving licence is also required as well as the use of a car to meet the requirements of the post including on occasions transporting children.
